"Don't be deceived into buying knock off headstones."

http://www.westmemorials.com/default.asp

This was one of those Sponsor Ads on the edge of a webpage. The headstone caught my eye first, but then I read their ad copy:

"She was everything to you. Mark her history with something more than a gray toaster-shaped memorial."

Escuse me? That's fantastic! Can you imagine being the target buyer? Your partner's just died, you're so helpless with grief you haven't even considered headstones, and this is the tag-line that's gonna make you call them?

So of course I had to check their website:

Why are West Memorial's headstones any better than the competition's? "At West Memorials we listen. We understand the importance of family, love and self-expression. How special can it be if it is on someone's display yard?"

What's to stop me finding something on your website I like and getting it made locally? "If they are willing to break copyright laws, do you think they will treat you honestly? We create the most beautiful, unique and fairly priced cemetery monuments in the world. Don't be deceived into buying knock off headstones."

But you guys are in Memphis. How can we work together? "We are as close as your computer and phone. We create a computer rendering and send it to you for your approval. Today, the internet brings us all together. This is easier than you think."

This has to be the most dispassionate funerary marketing ever let loose. The copy reads like it's from a used-car dealership. I LOVE it!
